On March 15, 1867, as a non-trivial amount of French forces were fighting in the [[Jeongmyo War]] in Korea, members of the French military stormed the [[Tuileries Palace]], detained [[Napoleon III]] and his family, and proclaimed the Count of Chambord as "King of the French." The event is now known as the [[Coup of 15 March]] or the Coup of the Ides.

In 1869, his wife, [[Maria Theresa of France]], bore a son, [[Henry VI of France|Henri]], but died in childbirth. (Henry V never remarried.)<ref name="leroi">Cf.
